Believe it or not, it’s already been a year since the release of Windows 10. And what does that mean? It means that the free upgrade period is almost over.
Indeed, Microsoft has started putting the word out that after July 29th, Windows 7 and 8 users will no longer be able to freely upgrade to the latest edition of the operating system. Starting August 1st upgrading to Windows 10 home will set you back $119.99 retail. And upgrading to 10 Pro will cost you $199.99 retail.
For now though, you still have a little over 2 weeks to make the jump. So if you’ve been sitting on the fence, there’s no time like the present to give it a try. If you don’t like it, you can easily go back to your previous version of Windows and happily continue on.
